CHERINE (Cherine Anderson) is a Jamaican born Singer, Songwriter, Actress, Philanthropist and Host of The Cherine Anderson Groove Campus Radio Show. She has co-starred in award winning films One Love (alongside Idris Elba and Kymani Marley) and Dancehall Queen. She has travelled the world spreading her message of upliftment , empowerment – especially for young girls and women – as well as love and social justice.

While a college student she co-founded the Reach One Child ROC Foundation with her friend and Manager Patrick Lindsay. Along with a team of mentors she spends a significant amount of time running mentorship programs in Jamaican inner-city communities through YESS (Youths Empowering Self & Society) and The ROC School Tour for elementary schools.

A past student of Wolmer’s Girls School and The Queens School she holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Film & Media Culture and Japanese from Middlebury College in Vermont, USA. She spent her junior year exploring her musical ambitions while studying Japanese Language and Literature at Keio University in Tokyo Japan.

Cherine believes “ Music is that thread that connects us all, it inspires and heals but I also know that for a little girl from the harsh inner-city community of Rockfort education gave me options”

Cherine has a deep passion for both learning and the performing arts and says “ I would have been a lost child if I didn’t have both the arts and school. The music was my escape and education helped build my confidence, truly allowing me to  tap in unlimited potential”
